If the people of this country can see that the cuts affect everyone in the public sector, from top to bottom the anger might lessen. We might asll believe that we are all in it together

eaked info on Tuesdays Budget
Car tax (At present 310 euros for 1200cc)
Standard up 7.5%
Eco car up 45%
Hybrid up 100%
VAT up 2% (to 23%)

In 2014 there will be 9% vat on all processed food
And we think it is bad here

he thin end of the wedge 100 this year and next charged, to home owners and landlords. Tenants will not be charged directly.

That's going to upset the environmental groups who encouraged governments in the UK and Irish Republic to rip off motorists with 'green' 'stealth' taxes.

am told that Vat of 9% will be aded to processed food. Eg bagged potatoes, packaged meat

ellit looks as though something similar to council tax is about to hit the Irish Republic. I was aware that there was to be a 100euro charge this year and 200euro next, but I understand that the following year taxation will be based on the value of the property.
