I know this is Wales but there are already some councils in England that pay an allowance to town or parish councillors (Rustington?)
In view of the extra services and possibly the extra work taken on by these small councils, is the provision of allowances (legislation is already there I think) being considered? This certainly needs watching?
The precept for most of these town and parish councils is rising year on year, some of them by huge percentages. Allowances can only push them up even further.
Remember, THERE IS NO CAP on precepts here. The Government may say that they are 'looking at this' but they have been saying that for years. Remember Pickles?
